This is a copy of probably his most famous painting. We eased into the process of painting by using only black and white paints for the first assignment. I found that really helpful because the things I do in drawing transfered pretty directly with this technique. It made the addition of color less…horrifying!

Acrylics practically dry as you are applying them! I found that to be extremely frustrating, but other than the built in kvetching inherent to the medium, I enjoyed this project.

Going back a way for this one. Entering the 4 year college as a studio art major. This is a perfect time for me to think about where I’ve come from because it’s all happening pretty fast now. Exciting and a bit scary, but it’s a step I’m ready for. (This is a drawing from a photograph. I do not remember the photographers name. Who am I kidding…I don’t even remember where I saw this!)

This exquisite little article was found in perfect form and glistening like a gem. Though there was nothing apparently wrong with him, he was dead. Nothing of this fact could be seen in his ever attentive gaze.
