House
The seeds of the drawing were planted decades ago and have been tended well since then. Several years ago I came across a line in a book by E.L. Doctorow that just floored me: “Homes were for people’s lives to explode in like those steel-mesh hutches used my police bomb-disposal squads.” The point being, as you know, is that what things seem to be and what they actually are can often be quite contradictory.

Holy crap that’s beautiful! Those shadows (especially from the right tree, where it goes over the window) are beautiful! Not to mention all the shadow work in the trees themselves!
You know how late evening winter light looks around here. Especially when it’s peeping out from under a cloud bank. Makes everything a wonder!
