These came from a need to do something that had both a technical and  imaginative element. The problem with strict realism is that it can be so exacting in technique that it becomes a bit boring. Our brains are filled with recognizable images and once we have identified and categorized an image, especially in a time when the media rains down images on us all day, we are content to file it away and move onto the next. Art should strive to offer more than what may be quickly evaluated and essentially discarded. This is part of a set of thoughts that have been distilling lately. It’s a life’s work and I got stuck in traffic… But I’m here now!
